All About The Chop

It All Started with a Small Axe

Super 8, camcorders, go-pros, cell phones – the pace we accumulate video has been accelerating for as long as we can remember. But the more video we capture, the more daunting the task of sharing it with the world becomes. Scouring footage, editing, titling, scoring are all time consuming and expensive. We knew there had to be a way to cut through the madness.

It was clear what had to be done. That was the day we put our axe to work.

Choppers Gonna Chop

Colin Brumelle

Resident Panda Wrestler

While building the advertising platform at Twitter as a software engineer and leader, Colin saw both the effectiveness and the challenges faced by businesses using video on social media. He brought ChopShop to life to help make those challenges easier. Before working at Twitter, Colin started and worked at numerous small startups writing code. He can also play a mean riff on a guitar, ride a bike pretty far and fairly quickly, and loves spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons.

Izzy Lynch

Underwater Watermelon Engineer

A woman of many hats, Izzy has spent the past decade building her resume while skiing professionally all over the world. Her production, marketing and project management skills have been honed working with companies such as Sherpas Cinema, Mica Heliskiing, Arc’teryx and the Live It! Love It! Foundation. These days, when she’s not skiing pillow lines in Revelstoke BC, she’s wrangling ChopShop editors and working with clients to deliver exactly what they need.

An aspiring snowboarder who failed to ever go pro, Billy has established a career for himself as a pro keyboarder in the action sports and lifestyle marketing world with brands like Burton Snowboards and Timberland Boots. Billy joined ChopShop after being enchanted away by Colin when they met in a snowcat on a remote peak in the Kootenays. He brings with him a talent for brand strategy, content development, social media savvy, and is really fun to snowboard with.
